Below is a list of the animals currently available for adoption at Animal Ark. It is updated several times each day. So check back often! We typically house about 100 animals at the shelter. Every adoption helps us save another life. If you can't take home a new pet, you can help our animals find new homes by "Liking", "Sending", "Sharing", commenting on and sponsoring them! 	Bowie Male Domestic Short Hair Currently living at the Hastings shelter Hey! I'm Bowie, a cute and playful, white kitten with black spots. I'm about 3 months old and was found stray. Luckily, a nice couple took me into their home, out of the cold, until room opened up for me at Animal Ark. My foster Mom says I am a friendly and outgoing little guy. 	Brandon Male Domestic Medium Hair Currently living at the Hastings shelter Hi! I'm Brandon, a sweet, handsome, friendly, gold and white 1 year old male cat. I was originally found outside, with my Mom and siblings, when I was just a little kitten. We all went into foster care until we were old enough to come to Animal Ark. I was then adopted and returned because the older cat in the household just could not adjust to me. I am very, very active and playful. I like to play with other cats, but sometimes I play too rough. I am affectionate and love to sit in laps and also to have my tummy rubbed. I like to play with stuffed toys and will carry them around the house. I also use my scratching post and never scratch the furniture. Even though I was very outgoing in my home, I am afraid when I am put in a new situation, like coming back to the shelter. 	Buffy Female Maine Coon Currently living in foster care Hello there! I am Buffy, a very friendly and mellow, grey Maine Coon mix. I came to Animal Ark from Cody, Wyoming, after the sanctuary I was staying at closed. I am declawed on my front paws and I love being brushed! I tend to do well with most other cats, but am scared of dogs. In my last foster home, I did prefer male cats and hissed at the female cats. I have never lived with children. I am a somewhat special needs cat, in that I have a kidney insufficiency that is managed with special food. I was originally adopted from Animal Ark and, due to unforseen circumstances, I have been returned several times. 	Clive Male Domestic Short Hair Currently living at the Hastings shelter Hello! My name is Clive and I was recently found abandoned, hanging around the Industrial Park of Hastings. Even though I am new to Animal Ark, the staff who are caring for me say that I am quite the handsome and friendly fellow! Everyone is working hard to give me the food and care that I need so I can be ready for adoption. They are estimating my age to be around 3 1/2 years. I am a large, orange tabby male who is very easygoing. Now that I am being given the food and water that I was desperate for, I am on the road to a new home soon! UPDATE: Recently Clive was taken to an eye specialist, where it was determined he suffered significant head trauma sometime in his life. It has left him with 70 percent vision in his left eye and no vision in his right eye. It was determined that Clive is comfortable and without pain. He should live a normal life, other than not being able to see on his right side. For this reason, Clive will need an understanding owner who can handle his special vision needs. 	Daisy 3 Female Beagle Currently living in foster care Bow Wow! I am Daisy, a 4-1/2 year old Beagle. I am a friendly, playful and active dog. I walk well on a leash and know the commands sit, stay, come and wait. I enjoy any time in your lap that I can get! I like to chase squirrels and chipmunks, so I may not do well in a home with cats. I can be particular about my canine friends, so it would be in your best interest to have any other dogs in your household meet me before pursuing an adoption. In my previous home, I liked to sleep in my crate and I was housebroken. However, I may need some retraining upon entering a new home, so your patience would be appreciated. I am cautious around children, but would probably do okay with kids over the age of 8. I can be an escape artist, so a vigilant owner and a fenced yard would be good for me. I was originally found stray and impounded at Shamrock Animal Hospital. No one came to claim me, so I was transferred to Animal Ark. I really enjoy going for walks and will need a home that can provide me with the exercise I need. I am 6 years old and a big boy, weighing about 90 pounds. I am good with most other dogs, but I don't like felines. I lived with children from 10 months to 17 years and was great with all of them. Because I am such an active guy, I might accidentally knock over smaller children, so just keep that in mind. 	Louie Male Bichon Frise Currently living at the Hastings shelter I am a very nice, 8 year old little guy who is seeking a very special home. I am diabetic, so I get insulin twice each day. However, I don't mind and it really isn't a big deal. I like to play with other dogs and have lived with children. I do okay with children, over the age of 10, who are respectful of me and my toys. I was recently adopted from Animal Ark but was returned for being too protective of my people and my food. I need more time, stability and attention than my previous family could give me. 	Twinkie Female Labrador Retriever Currently living in foster care Hi! I'm Twinkie, a friendly, 9 year old yellow lab mix. I came to Animal Ark from Shamrock Animal Hospital, after being picked up stray. After my arrival here, it was discovered that I needed surgery to remove large amounts of bladder stones. Now that I have come through that surgery, I feel great! I love to go for walks and love having my tummy rubbed even more! It appears that I am housetrained and know how to sit. I lived with other cats in my previous home and did well with them. I have no dog experience and would prefer a docile home rather than an active environment. 	Zulu Male Hound Currently living at the Hastings shelter Need a Hound Dog in your life? Maybe I'm the dog for you! My name is Zulu and I am 3 years old. I am energetic, friendly and a gentle guy who LOVES to go for walks! I also enjoy sitting on your lap and giving you plenty of hugs and kisses, if you let me. I seem to be okay with several of the dogs here at the shelter. If you have another dog, it would be appropriate for us to meet here at the shelter to see how we would do together. It is unknown how I would do with felines. It would be best for me to be placed in a home with either older or no children, as I startle easily if I am woken up from my nap.
