Comments: This food received a low rating for the following reasons:
  • Chicken by-products are listed as the first ingredient. Although we like the fact that they specify "organ meat only), we believe that organ meat should only comprise about 10% (or less) of a dog's diet.
  • Chicken by-product meal is listed as the forth ingredient. In combination with the by-products listed as the first ingredient, this is a lot of by-product.
  • We do not like to see "dried beet pulp" in the ingredients, especially so high on the list.
  • "Cane molasses" is adding unnecessary sugar to the formulation.
  • BHA is a known carcinogen, which they are using as a preservative.
